18th Symposium on Architectural Aesthetics Held

The 18th Symposium on Architectural Aesthetics took place in the form of video-conferencing at the Sci-Tech Complex on May 13, 2026.
Present at the symposium on the theme of “New era of transformation for national rejuvenation and the Juche-based architecture” were officials and technicians in the sectors of construction design, construction supervision, building operation, urban management, land and environment protection and industrial design.
The participants watched first a video on the advanced construction technology.
Speeches were made by Song Il, department head of the State General Bureau of Design, and Pak Il Hun, vice-department director of the Ministry of Construction and Building-Materials Industry.
The speakers referred to the fact that under the wise leadership of the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un, new streets have been erected in the capital city of Pyongyang and other gigantic edifices such as large greenhouse farms, offshore farms and regional-industry factories built in different parts of the country.
They explained the theoretical and practical issues arising in creating the Korean architectural style symbolic of the civilization in the era of the Workers’ Party of Korea, introducing it into the overall construction and developing the country’s building-stone industry.
They expressed their resolve to fulfil their responsibility and duty in the drive to steadily usher in a great heyday of construction by successfully applying the WPK’s idea and theory on Juche-oriented architectural aesthetics.
