A national sci-tech presentation in the construction sector took place at the Sci-Tech Complex from July 30 to August 2, 2024, under the sponsorship of the Central Committee of the Architects Union of Korea.
It was held on the theme of “Comprehensive prosperity of Korean-style socialism and the Juche-oriented architecture”. It was attended by officials, teachers, researchers and designers from various units, including the State Academy of Sciences, the Pyongyang Urban Design Institute, Pyongyang University of Architecture, Hamhung University of Hydraulic Engineering and the South Phyongan Provincial Design Institute.
Presented there were over 160 papers scientists and technicians in the construction sector have studied and completed true to the Party’s intention of providing the people with the happiest life and bringing about a fresh transformation of the appearance of Juche-oriented architecture by fully applying its people-first architectural idea.
The presentation had in-depth discussions and question-and-answer sessions on the issues arising in the architecture and construction engineering sectors and new concepts and experiences.
Highly appreciated were some proposals, including an architectural formation method of an industrial factory with regard to the structural features of buildings for production and public service establishments, and settlement of projected length of steel pipe scaffold for ensuring the safety of high-floor formwork support system.
During the period, there were also a presentation of designing experiences gained in making layouts for landscaping the area of the third-stage 10 000 flats in the Hwasong area and a video show on the trend of construction.
The presentation served as an innovative and practical occasion for all participants to share and transfer advanced experiences so as to ensure that all the courses of construction, ranging from designing to building operation, are thoroughly based on science and technology.
